  annote =       {This PhD thesis proposal deals with handwriting
     recognition, namely diagram recognition. The first part is a
     survey on state-of-the-art methods. The introduction of own
     research follows. The flowchart domain was chosen for
     experiments. Three methods are presented. First one deals with
     recognition of graphical symbols employing segmentation by
     classification. The second one solves structural analysis using
     en examination of relations between found symbol candidates. The
     last one deals with classification of single strokes into
     text/non-text classes. The thesis proposal is expressed at the
     end of the document.},
