  annote = {Computer assisted microscopy of thyroid nodules is a new
    emerging field of research aiming to enhance the accuracy and
    correctness of diagnosis. Microscopic examination of thyroid
    diseases is of major significance since ultrasounds scans on their
    own cannot provide reliable diagnosis. The most important
    structure of thyroid microscopic image is the cell nucleus, making
    accurate nuclei segmentation of crucial importance. The purpose of
    this study was to develop an efficient and accurate boundary
    detection algorithm for nuclei segmentation of Fine Needle
    Aspiration cytological images of thyroid nodules, with minimum
    operator intervention. },
