  annote =    {We propose a generalization of the corner representation of
               binary two-dimensional images by M.I. Schlesinger et al. to
               three and more dimensions. This method allows to compress
               three (and higher) dimensional binary volumes. This
               representation enables to perform shifts, logical and other
               operations directly on compressed data. Memory savings are
               tremendous, typically reducing the memory requirements by
               one to three orders. Computational times are of the same
               order as in the case when uncompressed images are
               processed. },
