Calibrations

What is "NIST Traceability"?

International Light obtains fully characterized Primary Standard Detectors directly from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), a division of the United States Department of Commerce. Through the transfer of standards technique, we compare the output of a customer's detector to a standard under tightly controlled laboratory conditions. The calibration factor is computed and programmed, allowing direct readings in the optical units requested.

Spectroradiometric responsivity scans and spectrophotometric transmission scans are available, as well as calibration of custom equipment. Our Optical Calibration Lab adheres to the provisions of ANSI.Z540-1 & ISO.10012-1. Extra charges apply for audited military calibrations, and must include electrical recalibration (ECAL) of the radiometer, which is then used in the optical calibration of any detectors used in the system.
