The new IL290A & IL390C Light Bugs have been engineered to measure UV exposure in the harsh radiation environments found in UV curing ovens, printed circuit (photoresist) exposure systems, and printing plate exposure systems. They can withstand both intense UV irradiance and extremely high temperature environments while maintaining the internal temperature within its wide operating range (10 to 75 deg. C).The rugged, highly polished detector housing is machined from solid aluminum, with high 'g' force mounts on all critical components, providing production line durability. The exposed side is highly polished to prevent temperature rise and UV damage associated with high irradiance levels.
The IL290A provides deep UV sensitivity with superior long wave rejection, for UVC & UVB curing applications employing broad band sources. Its solar blind vacuum photodiode and filter gives a 10,000 to 1 rejection above 365 nm.
The S-5 response vacuum photodiode and UV filter in the IL390C provide excellent UVA sensitivity with 1000 to 1 rejection to visible and infrared components.
The six (6) digit LCD display, brief instructions, and operating button are mounted on the side opposite the detector so that they will not be adversely affected by the solarizing effects of repeated UV exposure. The single control button makes operation simple, eliminating the opportunity for careless mistakes. This button functions as an ON/OFF switch (with auto shut off), RESET button, and BATTERY TEST. The Lithium Fluoride batteries have a shelf life of ten (10) years, and a typical service life of five (5) years. Factory battery replacement and recalibration are recommended.
