3D VRML Models    Booth Photos    Other CMP Demos    CMP Homepage CENTER FOR MACHINE PERCEPTION took part in the Czech Technical University presentation at the International Engineering Fair in Brno in September 13-17, 1999. LIVE DEMO on 3D model acquisition by stereovision was presented. The device consisted of four standard digital cameras, a texture projector and a Linux workstation. The interested visitors were asked to hold still for an instant just like if taking an ordinary photo. A set of four digital images of their face under a textured light illumination was taken. After about 10 minutes of data processing a VRML model of high level of detail was automatically reconstructed from those images. About 70 people were scanned this way. This site shows some of the models. THE DEMO PRESENTS results of a several-year research effort in stereo vision and 3D model reconstruction conducted at the Center.
