In image-based scene representation, virtual images of a rigid 3-D scene are constructed from a sparse set of reference views. View extrapolation, unlike simpler view interpolation, can solve the visibility in projective space. It allows to obtain a realistic virtual views of the scenes from any viewpoint.
Correspondences in two reference views of a rigid object are found by tracking edges in a dense sequence of images.
Triangulation in the first reference views is introduced. Projective triangulated model and virtual images with correct visibility.
Image point positions in virtual view are obtained by a transfer or a reprojection of the projective model. The visibility is solved by z-buffering, where z is the distance from epipole. Texture is warped by triangles using a graphics engine.
