Images, Images, Billions of Images
Prof. Michael Goesele

Today, there are literally billions of images available online, indexed
by search engines according to image content, geographical location, and
other features. Graphics and vision researchers recently started to
incorporate these images into their algorithms as a valuable source of
real-world imagery. In this talk, I will first give a brief overview
over some recent work in this area. I will then introduce our work on
dense geometry reconstruction from Internet images using multi-view
stereo techniques. I will close with an outlook on some open questions
in the field.
