Discrete Curvature and Its Applications. Atsushi Imiya Chiba University, Faculty of Engineering Abstract In this paper, we define digital curvature flow for spatial digital objects. We first define the princial normal vector for each point on the digital boundray of an object in the three-dimensional discrete space. Digital curvature flow is defined as the motion of a boundary according to the principal normal vector on each point. Therefore, digital curvature flow is a digital version of curvature flow. Furthermore, this flow, which moves the boundary, could also be considered a discrete curvature flow on an isoteticpolyhedron, the edges of which are parallel to the axes of an orthogonal coordinate system.
