Tracking Players in Sport by Computer Vision Janez Pers Faculty of Electrical Engineering University of Ljubljana Human motion acquisition is rapidly growing area of computer vision, with potential use in numerous applications, among others security, sport analysis, and entertainment (sport broadcasts). The interest of sport researchers in the computer vision solutions is significant, as it offers the possibility of non-intrusive motion acquisition during the top championship and league matches. On the other hand, sport environment offers ideal testbed for human motion analysis algorithms. Sport science can provide us with studies about motion, strategy and tactics, and sport halls offer much more controlled environment than for example is available in security applications. The topics of the talk will be: * The development of the system for tracking players in team sports (and, briefly, individual sports) in cooperation with Faculty of Sports * Specific problems in tracking humans by CV * Accuracy analysis of the developed system * Future work (analysis of motion patterns, recognition of player actions).
