SBA is a software package written by the speaker for dealing with the problem of generic bundle adjustment. It efficiently solves the problem by exploiting its sparse structure, and being publicly available, it is currently widely used by vision researchers and practitioners. The talk provides an overview of SBA, its development history, some representative applications and a review of lessons learned throughout its lifespan, including anecdotal evidence
