CVWW 2014

Computer Vision Winter Workshop
Křtiny, Czech Republic, 3-5th February 2014

About the Workshop

CVWW 2014

The 19th CVWW 2014 is the annual meeting formed around four groups: the Pattern Recognition and Image Processing Group, TU Wien, the Computer Vision Lab of the University of Ljubljana, the Institute for Computer Graphics and Vision, TU Graz, and the Center for Machine Perception of the Czech Technical University in Prague. The basic goal of the workshop is to communicate fresh ideas within the four groups, and provide conference experience to PhD students. However, the workshop is open to everyone.

The CVWW 2014 is organised by the Center of Machine Perception at CTU Prague.

Poster spotlights

Each poster in CVWW’2014 will also have a spotlight presentation. Each spotlight presenter will give a short (60-second limit) elevator pitch to advertise his/her poster. Note that the intention of the spotlights is to draw people's attention to the posters and are NOT meant to be mini-talks. Each presenter should create a single Powerpoint slide with highlights of their poster using the following template:

Title: Recent trends and future challenges in action recognition

Abstract: This talk will overview recent progress and open challenges in human action recognition. Specifically, I will focus on the three problems of (i) action representation in video, (ii) weakly-supervised action learning and (iii) ambiguity of action vocabulary. To the first problem, I will overview local feature methods providing state-of-the-art results on current action recognition benchmarks. Motivated by the difficulty of large-scale video annotation, I will next present our recent work on weakly-supervised action learning from video and corresponding video scripts. I will finish by highlighting limitations of the standard action classification paradigm and will show some of our work addressing this problem.
