Abstract

In this team project, the students developed a simulator of curling-like game. A glass bottle representing the curling stone is sent by hand over a desk and tracked by a camera. The tracked positions are used to simulate a trajectory of the stone on virtual field (in different conditions, e.g. friction and size) including collisions with the virtual stones played before. The events on virtual field are displayed on computer screen. This setup shows that such virtual reality systems can be based on regular hardware and computer vision methods.
