PRINCESS Presentation of the CTU Prague team

The CTU Prague Group

The CTU Prague group contributing to PRINCESS belongs to Center for Machine Perception (CMP). The CMP members active in the PRINCESS project are:
    • Vojtech Franc: Statistical pattern recognition. Quadratic optimization.
    • Vaclav Hlavac: PRINCESS project coordinator. Head of CTU Prague team. Computer vision and pattern recognition.
    • Daniel Prusa Syntactic pattern recognition. 2D grammars.
    • Alexander Sheknovtsov: Labeling problems. (ex-member of the Kiev PRINCESS team).
    • Tomas Werner: Labeling problems.

Our PRINCESS Activities

    • Recognition of mathematical formulae. The approach based on two-dimmensional context free grammars is used. We adopt approach developed by Kiev group (B. Savchynskyy et al.) as well as use our own approaches.
    • Contribute to solution of labeling problems, i.e. optimizations using Markov Random Field based statistical model. The approximations which can be used for huge problems are being developed.
    • Quadratic optimization problems used in statistical learning.
