• The XFree86 4.0. The new X11 window system with 3D hardware acceleration. The mouse with scroll ring is supported now.
• K Desktop Environment 2.0. The advanced window manager. You can also interactively choose another WM (fvwm95, fvwm2, WindowMaker, AfterStep).
• StarOffice 5.2 with Czech support.
• Maple 6.
• Geomview 1.8.0. The 3D viewer with hardware 3D acceleration (for software emulation run geomeview -mesa).
• The CUPS printing system. New style printing system with possibility of the setting of the printing options by user (documentation).
• Windows 98 emulation. The virtual machine running Win98 operating system. MS Office 2000 and Adobe Acrobat 4 is installed here. The VM run by command win95 (only stuff and PhD students are allowed).
• Netscape Communicator 4.75. Much more stable WWW browser. New version of the Netscape 6.0 it is also available: netscape6.
