Magneto Optical disks

There is one MO drive attached to the "storage" computer in room no. 130. This computer operates under Windows 95. MO drive has J: letter.

Formating new MO disks

You have to crate partition table on MO disk and to format after.
  1. Put MO disk to the drive.
  2. Run fdisk program from Start->Run dialog.
  3. Put 5 (Change current fixed drive) and select 2 (Drive J:)
  4. Put 1 (Create DOS partition) and enter default values.
  5. Exit fdisk by ESC key. Ignore message about restarting computer.
  6. Eject MO disk and put it to the drive again.
  7. In the My Computer window click on the J drive. Windows will ask you about formating disk. Answer Yes and select Full format.
  8. After formating, MO disk is ready to use.
