Structure-from-motion using polarization imaging camera

In this presentation, I will fist introduce myself briefly and my study on
mixed reality applications based on calibration, structure-from-motion and
tracking. They all assume to use an omnidirectional multi-camera system for
mixed reality applications such as telepresence and AR-based pre-visualization
for film making. Through two month stay of this time, I would like to launch a
new research topic about structure-from-motion based on polarization. In the
latter half of this presentation, I will propose a novel structure-from-motion
problem using a polarization imaging camera. Polarization has strong potential
to restrict camera position or target shape even if the target has reflective
surface. I will talk about why we focus on polarization camera and discuss my
future work.
Research interests:
Camera geometry, 3D reconstruction, Structure from Motion, Tracking for mixed
reality
