WBS Image Matcher, demonstrates the process of finding relation between two images of a scene taken from different viewpoints. Our solution of so-called Wide-Baseline Stereo (WBS) problem involves first finding tentative correspondences using a local features approach and robust estimation of a scene geometry. The geometry of the scene is represented with two different models. In case of a non-planar scene, the relation is called epipolar geometry and the matrix relating two corresponding points is fundamental matrix. In case of a planar scene it is possible to find so-called homography matrix, that implies point-to-point correspondences between the images.

The application

WBS Image Matcher calculates fundamental or homography matrix and coordinates of corresponding points in images. Optionally it provides simple Matlab script and a .mat file with data necessary for a visualisation of the estimated model.
